Top Tips to Help You Relax and Unwind

After a hard week’s work, a stressful few months or just because you deserve it, everybody needs some R&R.  Everyone unwinds differently, some use exercise others opt for a relaxing spa break, it depends what you like. Here are our top tips to make sure you get the most out of your time off.

No social media

The last thing you need when you want to unwind is distractions from your phone or computer. Social media pressure is constant and ongoing with a lot of people checking every 2-minutes for fear of missing something. Give yourself and your brain a break and log out of all social media completely for at least 2 hours. This will help your mind and body relax and help you to completely unwind and enjoy your downtime.

Drink water

We all know how important drinking 8 glasses of water a day is for our health but sometimes struggle to drink that much. Try to have a bottle of water with you at all times and sip constantly instead of trying to drink it all in one go. Cut out or limit your coffee intake as caffeine has a diuretic effect which can lead to dehydration. If you find plain water too boring, you could be adding refreshing fruit or try it hot add lemon or honey.

Get a Massage

For the ultimate in relaxation, book yourself in for a full body massage. Massages are proven to help with muscle tension, stress and pain but not only that, it is a chance to completely switch off and dedicate time to yourself and your wellbeing. Ongoing massage therapy can even have a positive effect on digestive disorders, chronic migraines and can help to ease anxiety. With all of these health benefits, how could you resist!

Meditation and mindfulness

With most of us having hectic and busy lifestyles it is rare we get to spend time minding our mental health and focusing on the most important person in the world, ourselves! Take 15 minutes out of your busy schedule every single day (maybe after dropping the kids to school or while you wait for the washing machine to finish) to focus solely on yourself. Use a free app like HeadSpace (https://www.headspace.com) for bite-size meditation for busy schedules.

Spa Break

Plan a spa break with a group of friends or a partner to experience some much-needed time-out and relaxation. You can swim or relax in our swimming pool and steam room or treat yourself to a variety of skin treatments and massages. Take your time and enjoy our dark and bright relaxation rooms.  Let someone else take care of you for a change.

We are excited to announce that we are getting a huge makeover! The Osprey Spa will be reopening with a brand-new look in June 2018, with some huge changes. 8 new treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite, and 2 dedicated relaxation rooms are all on the way.
